Wood splits and cracks when exposed to dishwasher temperatures, humidity, and water. Delicate glassware can break in a dishwasher, making for a big mess to clean up. Some metals like cast-iron and copper are not meant to be washed in the dishwasher and can become damaged as well as cause damage to other dishes.

We do not recommend sterilising your products in a traditional steam steriliser as the extreme heat will reduce the lifetime of your bamboo products.

However, we can recommend using products like Milton’s Sterilising Wipes.

Your bamboo products are designed to last a lifetime, but much like any other product made from nature, it does require your care.  Extend the lifetime by Oiling your bamboo products keeps the wood supple and moisturised.

Think of it as your skin: the more it’s exposed to the elements (water), the more it becomes scaly and dry, eventually leading to cracking and splitting. A generous application of coconut oil conditions the wood, and repeated application saturates the layers, keeping the wood resilient and providing a natural lustre. Our bamboo products are hand-wash only and not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave. The good news is bamboo is naturally antibacterial and microbacterial so warm soapy water is all you need.

When washing please be sure to remove the silicone ring when drying so that the product can be dried in full. Much like any other natural product exposed to the elements of water and air over an extended time, you do not want to encourage mildew by leaving your products wet or soaked for prolonged periods.

Our 100% organic products are GOTS certified and our signature bamboo and organic cotton fabric is OCS certified. We use factories that are of Oeko-Tex100 standard, which means products are Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 Baby certified free from any harmful chemicals or substances.

– All returns and exchanges are free in the UK, however, please note that international return costs are not covered by JOYO
– All items must be returned new, unused and in original JOYTO packaging
– Returns that do not meet our policy may not be accepted and will be sent back to the customer
